The Weekender Make-up bag!

P1020323Ive just come back from a lovely weekend away visiting my babe of a bestie Nina *& the only reader of this blog… hey beaut LOVES YA.* I managed to pull a blinder and surprise her *with the help of her boyf Jack…thanks me duck * and kidnapped her for a lush spa day on the Saturday and a bit of a mosey round the shops on the Sunday. It was a beaut of a weekend and I had a lovely time just catching up, chatting about all manner of bits and having a god old laugh… She’s my sister from another Mr you see and were guna make babies one day!

So as I did a lil packing for this weekend I thought I’d do a ‘Weekender Make-up Bag’ round up… basically having a butchers at what I took away with me .. mainly because I’m yet to unpack it and this will egg me on to do so but also because love these types of post and I always find it interesting what people choose to take away with them. *Im nosey like that you see*

Firstly let’s talk about my chosen make up bag. I’ve outgrown the makeup bag for home storage but this one is great to chuck everything in for travel. I brought this from Cabella, a make-up boutique & shop based in Nottingham, but unfortunately they don’t look they sell these online anymore, but you can buy them directly from Alphabet Bags here. Its a great size for weekends away & its large enough to fit all this in and more, plus I love the slogans! WINNER.

But what you’re really here for is what went inside… obs! Base wise I went with the IT Cosmetic Your Skin but Better CC cream with SPF 50 and the matching concealer. I’ve raved about the CC cream recently here but the concealer is just as great and be prepared for it to end up in my upcoming concealer edit. Charlotte Tilbury’s Airbrush Flawless Finish in 1 Fair was my powder of choice for its non cakey finish that just sets the undereye and T-zone nicely and you’d never know it was there as it keeps that glow that I like instead of going full on matte. For eyebrows I went with the NYX Micro Brow pencil in Taupe, this is great if like me you have small brows of want to fill in any sparse areas & it’s a great dupe for Anastasia Beverly Hills Brow Wiz. To set ‘dem brows’ I used another dupe but this time for the Benefit Gimmie Brow, More Brows by Model Co in Light/Medium. I got this in a Birchbox recently and just like the Benefit offering its got one of those tiny brushes which I find ideal for my slim brows *the only slim part of my body LOLs.* For eyes I was obs going to choose a pallet *for the options ya know* and wanted something with a good range of mattes, satins and shimmers but WHICH ONE TO CHOOSE *difficult life altering decisions you know*! I eventually settled on the Zoeva Nude Spectrum Pallet *yes I did ‘agonies’ over a few options #FirstWorldProblems lol*. Firstly I LOVE the packaging on this one, its large but super slim so fitted in my bag nicely, and the product inside is BEAUT. There’s a good range of shades that blend like a dream and look da bomb! If I had to be nit-picky I would of liked another matte neutral crease colour in there but this really is a gorge pallet and quiet affordable for saying you get 15 awesome shades with a bomb formula! It’s a real versatile pallet, I went more natural vibes with it but you could glam shiz up or pare things down if you wanted… “ideal for travel” as all the proper beauty bloggers say 🙂  For blush I also went for a pallet *again for them options.. a girls gota have options ya know* and chose the Urban Decay Gwen Stefani colab pallet. The packing on this one isn’t as “travel friendly” but its gorge non the less so that can be excused. It’s got a great range of colors too which I liked but I mainly stuck with mixing the bottom row for blush and using the shade Angel *top right* as a highlighter. My mascara choice was the Bobby Brown Eye Opening Mascara but as I forgot to bring my curlers it didn’t look as good as it usually does *hangs head in shame* but it’s a great choice for when you want “BA BAM” eyes and I used the Smashbox Photo Angle Pure Pigment Gel Eyeliner in Cocoa to add a bit more depth to my lash line, just putting a bit of this on the outer half and then smudging it out with an angles brush. Id say this is my fave way to use this liner as I can’t really get a precise line with the applicator when I try to line from my inner corner but I like the smudged in look the best. And then finally for lips I went nude and I’ve been reaching for No 45 from the Kate Moss Collection for Rimmel. This is a great everyday shade and ive been chucking it on loads when I want “something” but I’m not sure what! *like a numpty just realised I haven’t photographed this so I’ll post a swatch on Instagram instead shortly.. #BadBlogger*

And that’s about it really, I won’t go into all the skincare ect that I took with me as we’d be here till Christmas but I might do that another time for another trip… Whatcha think? I know I pack like I’ll be gone for an eternity but you can never have too much make up right *yea you keep tellin yourself that Abigail*

PS: Neen…. love your boobs 😉
